Question to the Department of Health

Posted: Nov 2, 2010

Question to the Department of Health During a debate in the House of Commons on 2 November 2010, Barry Sheerman asked the Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley: "Is it appropriate for my constituents in Huddersfield to be lectured about healthy living standards by a Minister who is out of condition, overweight and a chain smoker?" Andrew Lansley, Secretary of State for Health answered: "I take it that the hon. Gentleman is not referring to me in those respects, although I can probably claim one or two of those epithets. We are none of us looking to lecture anybody: we are trying to lead a public health strategy that enables everybody to make healthier choices and lead healthier lives."
