Barry Sheerman MP, former Chair of the Education Select Committee, has congratulated the schools Adjudicator, Mr Ian Craig, on his report which criticises faith schools for discriminating against poor and immigrant children. Commenting this afternoon Mr Sheerman said: “My committee called for urgent action on this matter six years ago and although there have been some advancements made we still need to see a more rapid improvement. Faith schools should lead the way in fair and objective practices when admitting children to their schools. They should be above reproach- leading the way instead of lagging behind in fair admission.”
