Barry Sheerman awarded prizes for the local Huddersfield Creative Arts Network photography competition on Friday 25^th of March 2011.

 

Winners and local photographers Mike Smith and Laura Owen were awarded a framed and mounted print of their work. Their photographs are also currently featured on the Visit Huddersfield website; www. visithuddersfield.org, for six months.

 

Barry Sheerman said: "I am delighted to see such impressive creative talent in Huddersfield. I hope this prize helps demonstrate just how creativity and a diverse range of skills can really shape the culture of our town" Mr Sheerman also hopes the event will draw attention to the growing importance of nurturing photography and other creative skills within the region.

 

The competition aimed to promote Huddersfield's vibrant community through photographic impressions based on the themes of Community, Arts and Culture, Home and Lifestyle, and Sports and Fitness.
