During the debate on economic affairs and work and pensions on June 8th 2010, Barry Sheerman drew attention to a Samuel Brittan article in the Financial Times ('Now is the time to ask: What crisis?' May 20th 2010), which states that the British economy is in a far better state than "most of our competitors" and that Britain's financial state is being over exaggerated.
